Guidance & eligibility

It matters to me that everyone in the Culture Mile has the chance to take part in this very special project, which hopes to gather a myriad of heartfelt creations made by residents for our wonderful area and its people.

For anyone who’s not online, there’s a special project Post Box (until 31st January) at the Speed House car park entrance, next to the Guildhall Conservatoire entrance on Silk Street.

DOWNLOAD A4 SHEET & GUIDANCE NOTES

Materials

  • Paper or card size: up to A4
  • Written entries: up to 500 words
  • Filmed clips: up to 90 seconds.

Details

In order to take part, I need just a few details from you:

  • first name
  • age (optional)
  • State whether you are a resident or City worker
  • a social media account (optional),
  • other contact – email, phone or postal address (optional)

I’m asking for a means to contact you as I would like to send you more information about the Spring 2021 Culture Mile sharing event.

Also, I am looking to develop the project further and would really like to keep you posted – as it’s something I think you might like to be involved in.

All the submissions will be curated and the project poet, Natasha Anne Kelleher (bit.ly/EMOETRY), will write a poem in response to the entries, which will be performed as part of the Imagine Fund Sharing event in Spring 2021.

I hope that the positive stories and creative response will help to foster a stronger sense of community, offering an uplifting and positive resource for local residents over the coming weeks and months.

This project is also open to future development and I am keen to work with others within the Culture Mile area – creative freelances as well as residents to create and share a lasting tribute to the creativity and resilience of this area.

Can’t wait to hear from you!
