From the House of Commons<\/strong> to the Scottish Independence Referendum<\/strong> the 2015 General Election<\/strong> and the EU Referendum<\/strong>, #Emilymatters<\/span><\/strong><\/span> was there.<\/p>\n

Bringing people together<\/strong>, to celebrate how far we have come and\u00a0to empower a new generation to use their voice and be heard is central to the #Emilymatters<\/span> <\/strong>initiative.<\/p>\n

On this day thousands of people turned out for the poignant\u00a0funeral procession through London in honour of suffragette Emily Davison. She was hailed a Martyr to the Cause by the WSPU<\/strong>, yet just months before Emily was sidelined to a footnote in \u2018The Suffragette<\/strong>\u2019 newspaper as her militant tactics became increasingly troublesome to the leadership.<\/p>\n
