The Postman’s Park Memorial<\/strong>\u00a0is a hidden gem in the\u00a0City of London<\/strong>.\u00a0It was the setting for my first #scope yesterday (although\u00a0Team #Emilymatters<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0did theirs from the former\u00a0WSPU Head Quarters<\/strong>\u00a0on Friday).<\/p>\n

The park was also the setting for a\u00a0To Freedom’s Cause<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0shoot back in 2011.<\/p>\n

To Freedom’s Cause<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is my about suffragette\u00a0Emily Davison<\/strong>. Emily embraced new media to promote her campaigning, so it felt right to take up the latest in social media, which is the live stream app called \u00a0\u202a#\u200ePeriscope\u202c<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yesterday I headed back to the Memorial, which pays tribute to the brave women and men who lost their lives saving others.<\/p>\n

Given Emily’s brave sacrifice, it felt an appropriate location to return to.<\/p>\n

In addition, I took the opportunity to briefly mention a few tips about how to\u00a0Periscope<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and in particular how to deal with trolls.<\/p>\n

The clip is approximately 6 minutes long and the link is only valid about 6pm 1st July!\u00a0Periscope<\/strong>\u00a0is like a digital Mayfly and if you’re a theatre person I think you’ll embrace it’s fleeting presence.<\/p>\n

However, you are able to save the links and upload them to YouTube if you wish to afterwards. But the direct\u00a0Periscope<\/strong>\u00a0link will no longer work after 24 hours.<\/p>\n
