The first @Emilymatters<\/strong><\/a> #Periscope<\/strong> came from the former HQ of the suffragettes’ WSPU<\/strong><\/a> (Women’s Social & Political Union) in London. The WSPU, led by Emmeline Pankhurst moved to this location, on Kingsway, in 1912. See Elizabeth Crawford’s<\/strong> excellent post<\/strong><\/a> about the location for more historical background information.<\/p>\n

Elizabeth has been very supportive of my suffragette Emily Davison<\/strong> play To Freedom’s Cause<\/strong><\/a> and helped me to more accurately represent the North East suffragettes.<\/p>\n

Thanks to everyone who got involved in our first scope and made our first venture on this new social live streaming app such a success.<\/p>\n
