Marie with maidservant and audience in Bolton Castle courtyard.\" class=\"wp-image-5766\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.katewilloughby.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/kw_mqs_bc_group_courtyard-1-1.jpg 357w, https:\/\/www.katewilloughby.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/kw_mqs_bc_group_courtyard-1-1-278x300.jpg 278w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 357px) 100vw, 357px\" \/><figcaption>Marie Stuart &#8211; Fleur d&#8217;Ecosse performance. <br>Mary Queen of Scots with Maid Servant and audience.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color\"><strong>\u2018Marie Stuart \u2013 Fleur d\u2019Ecosse\u2019<\/strong> developed from a simple two hander, relying heavily on Mary\u2019s own writings, to a full promenade production that was successfully performed over the summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kate continued to work on the production adapting it for <strong>school groups<\/strong>, creating&nbsp;<strong>a French translation<\/strong> of the play for visiting cross Channel groups as well as working on a final version specifically for the castle&#8217;s Great Chamber.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This endeavour&nbsp;was&nbsp;rewarded with the&nbsp;official approval of the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marie-stuart.co.uk\/\">Marie Stuart Society<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<p>After <strong>Mary Queen of Scots<\/strong>, Kate\u2019s interest turned to <strong>Elizabeth Fry<\/strong>, the nineteenth century prison reformer.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"197\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.katewilloughby.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/AFWOC_V3_FLYER_IMAGE.jpg\" alt=\"A Fiver's Worth of Courage - flyer\" class=\"wp-image-646\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Once again she threw herself into extensive research, visiting Friends House London and Norwich PRO to read Elizabeth&#8217;s original journals.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2018A Fiver\u2019s Worth of Courage\u2019<\/strong> also premiered at <strong>Bolton Castle<\/strong> as a promenade play, before being adapted for a London tour to a number of diverse venues including the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.actorscentre.co.uk\/theatre\">Tristan Bates Theatre<\/a><\/strong>, Covent Garden, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/westminsterquakers.org.uk\/\">Westminster Meeting House<\/a><\/strong> and <strong>HMP Brixton<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"452\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.katewilloughby.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/EFry_short_play_EF_HS_HMP_Brixton.jpg\" alt=\"A Fiver's Worth of Courage HMP Brixton performance.
