#Emilymatters<\/span><\/strong> <\/span>is a social media campaign to support and advance gender equality<\/strong>, particularly focusing on the importance of voting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From the House of Commons<\/strong> to the Scottish Independence Referendum<\/strong> the 2015 General Election<\/strong> and the EU Referendum<\/strong>, #Emilymatters<\/span><\/strong><\/span> was there.<\/p>\n

Much of the campaign and future project is about bringing people together<\/strong>, to celebrate how far we have come and through drama and creativity helping to empower a new generation to use their voice and be heard.<\/p>\n

The 6th February 2018 marked 100 years since\u00a0(some) women and all men got the right to vote\u00a0(Representation of the People Act<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

We have developed an interactive and empowering outreach project<\/strong><\/a><\/span> tailored to this Vote 100<\/strong>\u00a0year of celebrations.<\/p>\n

As part of the February anniversary, we were involved in a series of events and media outreach, including a special podcast<\/a><\/strong> in honour of the Representation of the People Act<\/strong> with historian Dan Snow<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and a performance of the women at the heart of #Emilymatters<\/span><\/strong><\/span>, suffragette Emily Wilding Davison<\/strong><\/span>, as part of the UK wide launch<\/strong> of the Civil Service’s Vote 100 celebrations<\/strong><\/a> and suffrage flag relay<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
