Following a wonderfully warm Yorkshire welcome at the inaugural<\/b> WEP York branch<\/a> meeting<\/b>, new adventures at Woman Up London<\/b><\/a> beckoned!<\/p>\n

The #Emilymatters<\/b> performance at Woman Up!<\/b> drew on my Emily Davison<\/b><\/a> play, To Freedom\u2019s Cause<\/b><\/a>, as well as the #DearLauren<\/b> voting matters campaign.<\/p>\n

Working with Naomi Paxton<\/b>, a fantastic cast stepped up to the challenge. What we did felt very much in keeping with the Actresses\u2019 Franchise League<\/b>, as well as the suffragettes.<\/p>\n

Whilst Kirsty Murray<\/b> was key to the overall success of our involvement in the Woman Up<\/b> festival. Her background in event management ensured everything went according to plan on the day.<\/p>\n

Amanda Holmes<\/strong>, Chloe Hutchinson<\/strong> and Ayath Ullah<\/strong> from Team #Emilymatters<\/strong> were central to the planning process and it was great to get the support of members of #EmCrew<\/strong>, especially Nicola Gauld<\/strong>, Alice Dermody-Palmer<\/strong> and Alysha Bodman<\/strong> who saw the performance.<\/p>\n

The above quote is taken from the new Emily speech, based on her writings and set in 1913, where she addresses a meeting at the Conway Hall, London and offers a call to action.<\/p>\n
